Roberta Brunelli is the International Commercial & Underwriting leader at AmTrust International Mortgage and Credits (previously Genworth Financial Mortgage Insurance), with more than 15 years of experience in the insurance/financial sector. She is responsible for business development and partnership management with major banks and financial institutions. Roberta has developed a thorough knowledge of the mortgage market and related financial issues by offering high-level consulting to customers who want to grow in the mortgage market, especially in the high-loan-to-value segment. Before joining the AmTrust team, Roberta worked first at Allianz and then as a consultant/analyst at Towers Watson. Roberta has a degree in Business Administration from the "Luigi Bocconi" University of Milan and has attended numerous courses in leadership and management abroad. She is also president of ASSOVIB, Association of Real Estate Evaluation Companies, since September 2016.
With over 25 years of international experience in financial services and risk management, Roberto oversees the risk and pricing assessment of mortgage insurance and structured risk deals. He initially joined the team more than a decade ago to set up the risk analytics capabilities and then implement the ERM/Solvency 2 framework. He started his career in banking as a treasury and capital market analyst. Before joining Qualis' predecessor company, he spent five years in consulting, working on risk management projects in Europe and Latin America. Roberto has a BS in Applied Mathematics and is a certified Financial Risk Manager by GARP.
In her current role, Mariangela is responsible for the analysis, evaluation and implementation of new customers and the operational management of existing customers at the European level. In the role of insurance brokerage manager, she is responsible for ensuring compliance of the activity carried out with the mandates received from the insurance companies. Mariangela will therefore have the mission of promoting the positioning of the MGA with other insurance operators, who will be able to count on Qualis as a vehicle for their investments. Mariangela's experience and vision will be available to the European insurance market.
Andrea has more than 15 years of experience in the financial/banking sector. In the last six years, he has worked in two top consultancy firms, supporting the Italian market to cope with risk and digital transformation challenges focusing on maximizing banks' strategies to quickly return on tech/products investments. Andrea has previously developed knowledge of corporate/retail/private banking business, working for ten years in one of the main Italian banks in several business development roles. As a result of this combined experience, Andrea had the chance to fully monitor Italian and European markets, assessing both macro trends and main business drivers for sustainable growth of the banking sector. Andrea has a degree in Economics from the Universitià degli Studi Roma 3 and is currently attending an Executive MBA at University of Pavia, focused on digital transformation and future challenges for insurance and banks.
Patrick (Pad) started his career at First National Bank, a large independent finance house specialising in all aspects of consumer finance, where he held several senior roles. When First National became an Abbey National subsidiary in the late 1990s, Pad was promoted to Sales Director/Head of Branch Operations. Later, after the business was sold to GE, he was Director First and Second Mortgages. Prior to joining Genworth Mortgage Insurance in 2011, Pad worked at a niche consultancy firm specialising in the consumer finance and mortgage market. When AmTrust purchased Genworth in 2016, he assumed the role of Business Development Director, Mortgage and Credit. At Qualis, Pad is Head of International Business Development, which includes managing the various ASU creditor programmes in the UK.
Pad holds relationships with Banks, Building Societies, brokers and key trade bodies and has a post-graduate diploma in leadership, Exeter University.
Bill has over 25 years of combined experience within the relevant areas of the Mortgage Lending and Credit Insurance sphere, with the majority dedicated to underwriting mortgage insurance and holding various leadership roles. As head of Qualis UK, he leads the UK business development. Across Europe, Bill is also responsible for our underwriting, due diligence, audit and claim processes, and managing the credit policy and loss mitigation controls. Bill has been with the company since January 1999 and has held several different roles, initially starting as an underwriter before moving into audit and then onto credit policy. Before working for the company, Bill worked for the Leeds Permanent/Halifax for 11 years, most of this time being involved in mortgage lending. His experience there ranged from working in a branch to heading up the mortgage processing unit.
After more than 20 years of experience in financial services and retail credit risk management, Jaime is responsible now, for developing mortgage credit insurance market in the Iberia region. In the past, he managed retail credit portfolios aligning sales, marketing and credit risk policies to improve bottom line results by integrating data & advanced analytical solutions across commercial & credit risk processes. He has also been responsible for supporting financial entities to initiate their digital transformation process, maintaining a closed focus on profitability, customer value and sustainable growth across different geographies, mostly in Europe & Latam. He holds an Executive Master´s in Finance & Management specialty in Financial Institutions, a MBA, and a Business Law degree.
